Sam’s Cornwall is one of the county’s longest operating and well known restaurant companies. A Family business that originated in the harbour Town of Fowey in 1987.
Proud ambassadors of local Cornish produce, be that from the day fishing boat “The Emperor” that delivers right to the shore in front of Sam’s on the Beach restaurant, to their cattle herd from Lanhydrock. You don’t get more local and fresher than that.
Sam’s has a flair for combining the true spirit of Cornwall with a focus on providing a laid back, fun filled dining experience with exceptional food for his customers. We have slowly and organically grown as a company over 34 years years from Fowey, to Polkerris, Par, Truro, The Roseland, and now are looking forward to welcoming you to our new venue and residency in Falmouth a little further down the coast at the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club, opening May 2021. For those of you all who have dined with us in Fowey over the years you will already be familiar with the laid back dining experience with attentive, friendly staff and memorable times made.
We are open to RCYC members and now non members, bringing the original Sam’s Fowey experience to Falmouth a location you can arrive by foot or by boat.
How about start the day off with a casual mid morning breakfast of St Ewe eggs with smoked bacon Baker Tom rolls and a strong Cornish Coffee whilst watching the harbour come alive, or maybe you are more of a long, lazy lunch on the lawn kind of guest. Delicious local Moules, Scallops or Steak and Fries and a bottle of Muscadet to watch the flotilla of craft and crew drift by, maybe then we can even entice you to stay longer to sample Mike’s exquisite Patisseries and Sandwiches that make up our Sam’s High Tea all washed down with a glass of Champagne or Prosecco … then roll it into Spritz or G and T time and pre diner drinks and watch the sunset over the harbour.
The evening menu starts at 5.30pm and can be enjoyed on the lawn, in our covered courtyard or in the club house. In high season an option to preorder takeaway food or a Sam’s Hamper from the comfort of your boat ready for collection from the Yacht Club kitchen will set you up for a perfect day cruising,
The menu will be a mix of the Sam’s classics such as Bouillabaisse, Moules and Seafood feasts, along with our home pressed Burgers and Meat Dishes, Vegetarian and Vegan fare along with some new sensational specials from new Head Chef Mike We welcome families as always and will have our special little skippers menu for kids.
Head Chef Mike Crowson, a very talented chef returning to his roots in Cornwall, having previously worked in Fowey with Glynn Wellington, another of our resident chefs. Mike has worked for the last 10 years in the Alps in high end Ski chalets, and more recently aboard the Barge Finesse creating gastronomic delights for his clientele, served up while touring the waterways of Burgundy and the Canal du Centre in France.
Be prepared to be wowed by his patisserie skills, his exquisite attention to detail in his fine dining dishes. High Tea on the Club Lawn with an Aperol in hand, overlooking the harbour is where you will definitely find me “working” this summer….
