For the past 28 years Sam’s has been synonymous with the Samburger. We’ve remained faithful to the original recipe all this time, but now over our four permanent venues across the county and out on the road with Sam’s Vans we have added to the selection available with several incarnations and even a few veggie options!

We here at Sam’s are proud of our heritage and and with our nomination for the Best Burger in Cornwall Award we have support in our belief that for a quality beef burger, chicken burger, fish burger or veggie burger, you needn’t look further than Sam’s.”

Past Present and Future with Sam

meals-on-wheels

James Strawbridge wrote an article on Sam’s for Cornwall Life magazine:

Burgers and chips or pizza used to conjure up images of poor quality junk food and greasy-spoons, but over the years there has been a growing scene for fast-food lovers with a conscience. I count myself as a major fan of the genre – local produce and seasonal ingredients served up with style, fries and no frills – indulgent comfort food with a strong American influence. This is why I admire Mr Sam Sixton – for giving me cheeseburgers to die for, pizza that leaves you guilt-free and now pop-up menus with a host of great food to enjoy on the beach – all with a killer soundtrack…

Wine tasting at SITC

Wine Tasting @ Sam's Truro

Wine tasting at SITC, I think we can all agree was an event in itself. For those of us who remember, there were 14 different wines on offer of which varied from the sublime and soon descended into the ridiculous, when staff foolish enough not to spit, swallowed the fourteenth! Some crew members (no names!) even ended up vandalizing their own car and stealing a giant cardboard box.

Sam and the SITC chefs

Sam and the SITC chefs descended upon Philip Warrens – a butcher with a heritage that could happily match any member of the Windsor family. The tour took us into the depths of the cold store witnessing their Cornish bred beef curing beautifully with the help of some imported Himalayan rock salt.

Well! Where do we start?!

Well! Where do we start?! It’s been a month of many ups and the occasional down at Sam’s. Work is nearing completion at the Truro Venue (despite the electrical hiccup!) and Christmas bookings are flying in on the old proverbial sled – HOHOHO!

Paid The Cost To Be The Boss

Out of the three shortlisted finalists Sam’s came up trumps and won the prestigious award for ‘Employer of the Year.’

Anyone who knows what it’s like to work for the Sixton’s in any of their restaurants will tell you that this comes as no surprise. Sam and Emma have always worked tirelessly at providing all the staff at Sam’s an environment that allows them to express their creativity and most importantly a platform to enjoy themselves – a winning formula that clearly communicates to all our satisfied customers.

This year the CBA have decided that they should be honored for their hard work and we the staff at Sam’s echo their sentiments – well done guys, you’ve earned it!

Sam’s weddings

There were not one but two Sam’s weddings over the summer (Emma finally got to buy a new hat – that’s an old Blind Date reference for all you cool kids too young to remember Cilla in her glory days.) So congratulations to both ex Sam’s Crew members Guy and Lucy (who between them racked up 16 years of service) and their respective partners Mel and Duncan.

Truro’s Menu

Truro’s Menu has gone through it’s rigorous spell check (thanks Sam) and after a long hard slog the pieces are falling into place quite nicely with the new website and SITC interior looking almost like the finished article.
